Mary, born in Slovakia, came to the United States with her family as a small child. She grew up in North West Indiana and focused on the arts as a career.

She graduated from the American Academy of Art, in Chicago, and after working for several years in graphic arts and advertising she found herself experimenting with mosaics.

Being a self taught artist, she follows no rules and loves the freedom mosaics give her. “As a child, creating was always a passion of mine. There were very few times when a crayon was not in my hand. I find mosaic art extremely therapeutic.”

Mary teaches mosaic art for the South Shore Art Association in Munster, Indiana. She shows in several galleries in Indiana and Michigan. You can see her work in person in various Northwest Indiana art shows.

She resides in Northwest Indiana with her husband, two young boys and a house full of pets.
